CUSTOM PHOTO PRINTING ON LEATHER FOR TOURIST SOUVENIRS IN MALDIVES

Challenge
Ismail Jazlan owns a creative business within the Entec Pvt LTd Company in Maldives, with resorts as main target customers. Ismail is offering to the tourists in the area customized souvenirs, such as leather printing: he will take a photo of the tourists and then print the real photos directly on leather. Leather tourist photo printing is a unique memorable souvenir or customized leather gift.
Being new to the UV printing, Jaz needed a solution that can realize quick, easy and high quality printing outs for his tourist customers.
Solution
Collaboration started back in February 2021, when Jaz reached artisJet team for more information.
Based on the leather panel dimensions that Jaz was using, A4 leather panel mostly, and the in-shop printing, and considering that they’re new to UV printing technology, artisJet consultants recommended artisJet Young A4 LED UV printer, a printing system that can fit small working environments and it is very easy to operate. At the same time, details about how UV printing technology works, what are the consumables, printing cost, maintenance, and basic knowledge of UV printing, all were introduced to Jaz for a better understanding on how to use the printing system.
Results
After confirming the target printing model, 2 batches of leather panel samples were arranged for sample testing, which helped confirming the best leather textures and color for printing and the leather with best ink adhesion to the substrate. “The printing looks good!”
Due to COVID-19 pandemic lockdown situation, Jaz received his printer in April, and installed it.
During the summer time, Jaz has been busy re-opening his shop and restart the business. He decided to also extend the printing range, not just on leather printing, but also on other hard materials for flatbed printing, such as glass and metal. That is the reason an order was also placed for more inks and coatings for these materials in particular.
